Dinner Party Invitations

I'm not sure about anyone else but I am super excited for this semester and what it has to offer! Our first project for Graphic Design 1 is creating a dinner invitation. What's really got me excited for this project is that we are creating the theme, the concept, and the typeface! I was so inspired by this project that I had all sorts of ideas running through my head. So far I'm narrowing down the possibilities from crazy cat internet theme invites to having a little professional picnic dinner theme for our graphic design department and using the chair of the department as a mock client. This is all so exciting and I've started sketches that I will be posting later today or by tomorrow at the latest!

Dinner Invitation 2

So since I will be doing a mock client I'm not really sure what to draw for my sketches without going to the client first. All I'm thinking is how its going to look and the theme. Since it will be a spring picnic I was thinking natural colors or perhaps like bright neon colors. I want something to really grab someones attention. Since I can't really do much until I can get to a mac computer for some mock up color scheming. Here's some colors I got from my hundreds of color pencils. I narrowed down to these and I plan on using some as a starting point.
